There are two parts to the Survivor case:
One
- Internal Frame protects from shock and drops from 6 feet

- Sealed ports block blown sand and dust
Multi-position Clip securely attaches to pack strap or belt.
The sealed cover over the front camera is tricky at first but it is definitely sealed in there for protection. All you have to do is pinch the flap and pull and it will come right out. The one thing is that the camera flap is a bit awkward to use and can be cumbersome if you enjoy taking photos often using your iPhone.
The touch display buttons all work fine with the clear case over it, though there is slight difficulty when pressing buttons close to the edges of the screen, not uncommon like other cases out there.
One review of the case was cited by a soldier who used it in Iraq in the black hawk helicopters and called it “Virtually dust proof”. If you can take this out into the desert in war conditions, this should be good for you if you are prone to dropping iPhones or if you are in construction areas where there is a lot of opportunity for the iphone to drop or get dusty.
